Funds raised through a silent auction held during the Sheffield Gala helped the Rotary Club of Americus purchase a new soundboard for the Rylander Theatre. This piece of equipment replaced a failing antiquated unit that had been in place far longer than normal lifespan. This purchase was to help complete a project planned originally through another grant; however, COVID-19, supply issues, and escalating costs prohibited the purchase of the entire system.
The impact of this update is hard to define in numbers of beneficiaries (actual vs projected), but with the theater serving an average of 7000 annually (during a normal year), it could impact at least 70,000 over just a 10 year period (110,000 in 15 years).
