Support the newly re-established Boys and Girls Club in Plains, Ga. (the "Club") to achieve its goal of enabling young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. This unit is much needed in a county with 54% of all children living in poverty. The Club is named in honor of President Jimmy Carter, and he and his wife Rosalyn are active participants with the local Boys and Girls Club. The Rotary Club of Americus will provide much-needed computing equipment and dedicate volunteer time to support their efforts.
The Club has 27 registered members (youth beneficiaries), and are anticipating more. More computers in the Club means that the members will:
